I made a sweater & cap from Bernat baby sport, found enough to make an afghan, tried to use double strand and size 10 needles but it feels more like a tapestry..too heavy for a baby. Any suggestions? I'd like the blanket to match.

  • Go with one strand and smaller needles. It will take longer but be soft and light and baby friendly. I have a small crocheted baby blanket done in some baby yarn (sport weight) and it is very soft and light. Someone at the hospital gave it to me when my youngest was born. I don't think I'd have the patience to finish something that size with a small weight yarn.

  • 2 options -
larger needles so it's more airy (looser stitches)
or only use one strand of yarn at a time, and size 6 needles or maybe even a 5.
