  • When they speak to you like an equal and not some idiot. Also, people are too quick to point out the bad not the good. If someone does a good job, I would hope that the manager would say thank you or atleast acknowledge it.

  • Good decision making, not being a wishy washy person.

    Understanding, friendly. Saying what you mean, meaning what you say. Doing YOUR job to the best of your abilities, not slacking. HELPING whenever possible. Making sure the employees is ok and doesn't need anything. Being truthful.

  • Knowledge and experience. Both are preferable, but if they don't have one they better have enough of the other to compensate. They also need to understand that respect is earned, not given automatically, just because they have a management position.
