You want to use something called "royal icing" its a stiffer butter cream its just made especially for making decors ]
3 TBL meringue powder (wilton is a good brand)
4 C sifted powdered sugar
6 TBL water (or as you see fit)
Beat all ingredients at low speed for 7-10 min until icing forms peaks
Makes 3 cups.
Just a lil tip Irefridgerate my icing for 10 min before I even try to make anything.
