Do you say PG versions of cursewords

I have to use them because I. am 6 th grade teacher. I say shoot,darn and fiddlesticks. But if I am at home and stubb my toe I say shit.

  • Sure do! We say "pumpernickel" and "shenanigans" in my classroom. I teach 4th grade.

  • Yeah, especially when I worked. I taught elementary school as well. The substitute curse words always made the students giggle, whether they were in kinder or sixth grade. It was fun.

    I do it so my kids don't shock other people by repeating it

    morally though, I see no difference in cursing and using substitute words since the intent is the same.

  • Yes - I never use cuss words. It's just the way I grew up and when I was old enough to use them, it felt weird to say them. So we use PG versions, because there are just times when you need to exclaim something! Shoot and sugar are probably my most often used words
