  • Yes, and the military can actually be a very good environment for someone with ADHD because of the structure and regimented life. However, if the child also has learning disabilities that have not been fully addressed, this can present a problem and make acclimating to the new environment very difficult.

  • I'm just laughing because if they didn't let someone join with ADHD then there would be a lot less soldiers.

  • Yes and people with Aspergers Syndrom can even join. My 19yo son is in the Army and he has Aspergers Syndrome.

  • Thank You so much for the information. My kids both have ADHD. My dd has NO learning disability, she is a smart girl. My ds,I don't know if he has LD or not. I was just curious if it would ever be an option for them.
