  • jeezo we're having that exact same problem. our dog's trouble started when he had to go on medication that had a side affect of hunger -a steroid. Plus on top of that he lost weight. So we fed him more for the illness that he lost weight from but his medicine made him even more hungry as a side effect of that med.

Our dog's body was just on like fastforward always digesting food cuz we had to keep his weight up plus deal with the med.

Has your dog in the past several months been on a steroid med or any other kind of med. Some meds have side effects of causing diar. or constipa.

Sometimes dogs even cats, other animals can get defiant when their schedule is rattled, in their brains and eyes severely. Have you started a new job? A new baby? An elderly parent living w/u? Gotten rid of his bedding? Has he been kenneled cuz of a vacation you took? Have you changed his feeding times? Get him a checkup, could be sick too.

  • how old is this dog? do you use a crate? Is the dog left unattended in a room or given free run iin the house? If this was my dog, what i would do is take the dog out and if she did not poop and i felt like she still need to go. I would put her in the crate for 10 minutes so that she would not have the chance to go in the house. Then take her back outside, when she does go outside give her praise and a treat. You don't ever want to punish the dog for having an accident if you do not catch them in the act. Dogs live in the moment so they don't remember what they did 5 miintues ago. If you can't her going i would get her outside asap and let her finish outside.

  • I agree with KyliesMom5, thats what I do with our Dachshund "Pebbles", and as shes do'n her business outside I always say "Good Girl" while shes do'n "IT" that way she knows what shes gonna get a treat for.
