  • First you take everything off the book shelfs Get a box and a garbage can and decide what you want to keep, but not put back on the shelves, and what you will throw away. Then proceed to puth things back on the shelves that you want on there.

  • Add some more wall mounted shelves here and there...where ever you have room. Get decorative paper (you can just use paisley wrapping paper) to make book covers. You can start organizing your garden, cooking, non-fiction by shelf and have there covers match the room decor for a more cohesive look. Get a calligraphy pen and have fun writing on the spines. Easy calligraphy: Get a pen that has a -- looking tip, keep it horizontal the whole time your writing and you'll notice how the letters get thin then thicker at the write spots. Make some circles first to get the idea. You can find the pens at any craft store.

  • I think you need to have random items on the shelf also. For instance, on the top shelve fill right half with books and then 1 vase. Then on the second shelf, fill with books. Then on third shelf, place a photo with frame and on the left fill with books. Use fun stuff like a candle, childs antique toy, mug with pens, art, clock.....
