When do babies start spacing feedings apart?

I was told that when they start eating more ounces then they would stay full longer. My baby is on 5 1/2 oz and still eats every 3 hrs. I was just curious if that was normal or not...

  • My kids breastfed every 3 hours until they started solids at 4 months. But he's 15 months now and he still eats pretty much every 3 hours - with 3 meals and 2 snacks, and only 12-13 waking hours - they spend a lot of time eating!
