Acorn broke no laws on the infamous videos, thoughts?

NEW YORK – ACORN employees caught on video apparently advising a couple posing as a prostitute and her boyfriend to lie about her profession and launder her earnings did not commit a crime, the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office said Monday.

The office began its investigation Sept. 15, the day after the video was released online by the conservative activists who posed as an outlaw couple seeking help buying a house. It was but one in a series of such videos filmed at ACORN offices around the country that sparked a national scandal and helped drive the organization to near ruin.

"We are gratified that the district attorney, after a thorough investigation, found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by ACORN," said a statement by Jean Sassine

  • What does this change really? Nothing.

They were still trying to help people get money for prostitution houses with money given to them by tax payers which tells me that there are more than likely prostitution houses out there that are real and are being funded this way. Acorn should not get any more money. They are corrupt and disgusting.

What you saw was an edited video, they said the whole time. I know this is a joke, the aspiring film makers edited those tid bits out...and the ACOTN workers were still fired and they hired an outside party to do an investigation of their own....

  • Gee, who would expect anything else from NYC?? I believe ACORN is completely corrupt. They advised the couple on the film on how to launder money, there is no way around that. They said nothing about them bringing teen girls over from a Central American country to put them to work in this supposed prostitution house. Nothing that James & Hannah proposed was too over the top for ACORN. There is NO defense for them.

  • If you are associated with the Progressives, anything goes and does, it's ALL good, they can decide to NOT pay their taxes, evade the truth, change the truth and ignore their constituents. NO WORRIES, for them anyway...

  • If those two were trying to set up Acorn and frame them for wrongdoing, then they need to be jailed. Period. It must have been a far right radical group behind that, trying to undermine Acorn... You know they will try to connect the President with the so-called Acorn mistakes but it is phony. The far right will do anything to smear and libel the President. It is pathetic and dishonest.

  • Yet..... There are still ongoing scandals across the nation of ACORN employees accused of fraud, embezzlement, etc.... Not just one location. Not just one state... But ohhh yes, it is the employees. Not the organization.. Looks to me, if an organization cannot organize their employees, they shouldn't be organizing communities.. And especially shouldn't be doing anything with taxpayer money.... Kind of like politicians I know (from New York) who oversees tax laws while he performs fraudulant acts against those very same tax laws....hrmmmmmmmm

  • Just shows what a lot of money and connections can do for you. At least we know the D.A. will have a lot of campaign money to run on.
