Acne from sweating

My son just started a new job overnight stocking where he is sweating a lot. His face is breaking out from the sweat. What can he do to minimize the break-outs?

  • Since the sweat seems to be the culprit, he could try using a mild solution of hydrogen peroxide (3%) and water. Put a teaspoonful in a glass of water and wash off the sweat with a paper towel or washcloth. If that doesn't work, increase the amount of peroxide. I realize that it may be difficult for him to do this during work, so he could mix the solution at home in a small bottle and whenever he goes to the restroom, he could clean sweaty areas then.

  • Also, if he wears a hard hat, he could line it with cotton material that is very absorbant.

  • I just wanted to add to what neebug posted.....Not using products for his hair & skin that are loaded with perfumes and chemicals will also help. What he is sweating off & onto his skin is the residues left on his hair from shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, hair spray, cologne, after shave, etc. - pretty much whatever he's using on his head & around his face. If he uses a mild shampoo/conditioner and foregoes the other products, there will be less "garbage" to mix with his sweat and irritate his pores.
