  • This might help: "However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances . . . commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. The reason for this is that every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified through God’s word and prayer over [it]."
    The only proviso is
"For the holy sprit and we ourselves have favored adding no further burden to you, except these necessary things, to keep abstaining from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled . . . " Acts 15:28,29
So everything is acceptable for a Christian except blood or flesh with the blood left in it OR anything first offerred as a sacrifice to a false god/idol.

  • There were lists in the bible of foods that we were not to eat (Jews who are devout and eat Kosher follow these guidelines). BUT - when Jesus was asked about this, He did say that what you put into your mouth is not as important as what comes out of it. (To paraphrase).

Mark 7:18 (NIV) "Are you so dull?" he asked. "Don't you see that nothing that enters a man from the outside can make him 'unclean'?
Mark 7:19 (NIV) For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods "clean.")
