How can I....

Zest a lemon if I don't have a zester? It's kind of an urgent need so any suggestions would be really helpful!!

  • I would scratch mine with a serrated kknife. Kind of scrape the lemon peel.

  • I do have a grater that is small.. I may try that but I'm worried that the pieces will be too big.. the knife idea may work well..Thanks guys... anyone else? Keep the ideas coming!

  • Thanks ladies! I used the smaller grater that I had and it worked out perfectly! I had to use two med. lemons to get 1 &1/2 tbps, but I did it! lol.. Just in case you're curious about what I'm making, you can check out the cover of this months woman's day (the lemon-honey cupcakes).. Got the cupcakes done, the flowers cut out, now taking a break before I make the bees and the frosting..
