Still trying to figure this one out

Why is it things like porn or crime or profanity are attacks on "Christian virtues"? How do you know they aren't attacks on Jewish virtues or Muslim virtues or Hindu virtues?

  • Because Christians go around and preach their values to people who don't care more than other religions.

  • i just thought christian word was used loosely in using the word to describe all religious beliefs regardless of the label of what your religion goes by.

Every Christian who directly says something is "an attack on Christian virtues". It happens all the time. I'm just trying to figure out why they are so damn sure it's an attack on "Christian virtues" when the only virtue Christians have that no other religion or culture on the planet had before they did is belief in Jesus. Porn, adultery, profanity, none of those are attacks on belief in Jesus, yet they are constantly called "attacks on Christian virtues." I guess I'm wondering why they think they are so special that nudity on late night TV is an attack on them specifically rather than a disregard of a virtue held by dozens and dozens of different belief systems?

  • it is an attack on society as a whole.. whether you be jew, gentile, christian, muslim and the rest of religion.
Porn degrades people and strips them from who they really are. It affects the person as a whole... mind body spirit and soul.

  • It is usually Christians that say it so a Christian isn't going to say that it offends another religions values.

But why does the Christian insist it is a personal attack against Christians only? It's the egotistical slant of it I don't understand.

  • When it is like what happened in Texas where the athiest group had their little campaign of trading in Bibles for porn it can be more so seen as an attack on the Christian beliefs of others.Or maybe just pretty insulting. Why didn't you bring up that that is where this question posed stems from? Instead you leave it out.
