"You better get right with God before it's too late!"

Does this saying make you feel like the person saying it thinks they're above you in some way, as if they themselves are right with God and you're not?

  • Yeah, there's some truth to it for everyone, but I don't think it does any good said that way.

  • It doesn't make ME feel that way because I know I am right with my God and all I've done wrong is overpowered by all the more than I've done right in my lifetime. But clearly I understand how it could scare people with low spiritual self esteem.

Just treat people nice. Pay a kindness forward. When you know you've done wrong work to learn from that to be better, doesn't mean another wrong won't be done. It means learn how to lessen chances of that wrong happening again.

  • To feel like someone is above me, I would first have to aspire to be like them.   I most definitely do not aspire to be like that!

I feel nothing but contempt for people like that.

  • I dont' believe in cramming God down anyone's throat. It is a personal decision but I disagree with the PP on the fact that there is a time when it is too late to be right with God. If you are dead and not right with's too late.
