How do you calm down braxton hicks contractions??

I am 30 weeks pregnant and extremely uncomfortable. Compared to my last pregnancy, it has been a long, rough road. I have had braxton hicks since about 12 weeks. They get stronger week by week and since my uterus is growing, I get more uncomfortable. Is there something I could do to not only prevent them, but when I do get them, for them to calm down?

  • Rest and hydrate - anything that doesn't have a huge amount of sugar or caffeine is good!

  • ok everybody keeps saying WATER... Well mine started at 13 weeks and WATER didn't help at all my doc kept saying water and I told her then she would have to hook an Iv up because I am drinking as much as I can.. I drank so much I didn't gain any weight because I couldn't eat much I was full of water.. So finally she told me gateraid (spelling?) it has worked soo much better.. I wasn't keeping water in but this helps so much has calmed them right down to where I only have maybe 1 every couple hours b4 it was sometimes every 10 mins.. also I get up and move which helps to. sitting around seems to make them come more... hope this helps.. gl
