When can baby switch from rice to bran or oat cereal?

  • Babies don't need to eat baby cereal at all. Around 9 months is a good time to start adding whole grain breads and cereals.

  • Once they get the rice down - they can have either.

  • Ignore babies don't need cereal theory. You get that on here way too much. As for oats, according to Gerber it's okay when the child can sit independently.

  • Its not really on a strict time scale...once they master step the simple rice on a regular basis, move on the bigger and better things!!!! That goes for jar food, cereal...everything....
