  • He seems to be having trouble either recognizing the "need-to-go" feeling, or else trouble deciding to stop what he's doing to go potty. In either case, this should work to get him back on track: Try to cancel his plans for the next day or two. Watch him closely. Remind him that he needs to tell you when he needs to go potty, but only take him yourself if you see him visibly trying to hold it, or if you see him starting to have an accident. If you see him squirming or grabbing himself, then tell him (don't ask him) it's time to go potty and usher him there. If you see him in the process of having an accident, tell him "hold it!" and pick him up and move him to the potty. He may be able to hold it and finish on the potty. Even if not, you can do your clean-up there and it will help him with the association. Reward him for telling you he needs to go potty and then going, but don't reward him if you take him there.
