18 week fetus heartbeat and measurements?

What were your 18 week measurements and heartbeat rate? I went to the midwife today and she said the heartbeat was 140 and my stomach measured in at 20 which is 2 weeks bigger then i should be, so what did everybody else have at 18 weeks?

  • most of my drs. said that the tape is really unreliable..... they just felt with their hands for a general ideal. and the heart rate varies, but 140's -150's is what they usually had.

  • I just had my appt today too and the heartrate was between 137 and 157 (good variables), and I dunno EXACTLY what my measurement was, but the midwife said it was perfect. First, this early the belly measurements don't mean a whole lot, just kind of one of many things they look for. Second, it's 100% NORMAL to be within 2 weeks of the measurements. Bigger or smaller, it's totally fine :) Sounds like a perfect appointment :)

  • Measurements are not always 100%
It cfan mean a number of things. I would not worry about that.
As for the heartrate I agree it varies so much.

  • Heart rate for both of mine was 150-160 the whole time. And my docs didn't start measuring fundal height until after 20 weeks.
