Do they not know? Or don't care or what?

I've always wondered why people of poor countries continue to have kids when they have no money,a safe place to live,or food to feed them.Do they not know that sex=kids? Why would you continue to have kids just to watch them die? Is their religion so strong in telling them to procreate that theirwilling to let the babies die to fufill this need? Is this a case of sex being a duty to their husbands?

  • I don't buy the line that they don't have BC or education. You don't have to have a college degree to know that if you have sex enough times a baby happens. Or that if you don't have food or medicine the baby will probably die. And even if they don't know the latter, they should not have to watch too many babies die before they figure it out.

  • Why does it matter to you. It is not hurting you.

  • I think it's a matter of they just don't care. Theres ppl in this counrty like that. Why do you think we have so many ppl on welfare? They just keep poppin out babies without a care in the world. Well not all of them but a nice amount.

  • Maybe they figure that the more kids they have, the more chances one of them will make something of themselves and help them in their "retirement" age

  • Hmm education, they don't understand the reproductive system and how it works. They don't have or can not afford birth control.

  • This is why I don't give money to Christian charities.   Why should I help an organisation solve a problem that they are largely responsible for in the first place and continue to perpetuate?

  • You seem to not understand some things about the world. People in these "poor" countries do not have access to birth control. Humans, while more intelligent than other animals, are still animals. Both males and females feel the strong urge to have sex. It is in our genetics to procreate. It is also stress relieving and makes for happier people.

Many people in these "poor" countries also lack the education to understand how the reproductive system and ovulation work. They have sex, for recreation, good health and duty without understanding of how and when a child comes into being.

Not everywhere is like America. We have access to better health care, education, and in many ways are more advanced than these "poor" countries that you refer to.

These people don't like to see their children die anymore than we do. But unfortunately for them, they are unaware or unable to prevent it.

  • I agree with anon :30. Some people in other countries aren't as educated as others about sex and birth control.
