Do you think Obama would backstab his OWN party just to pass any form of a healthcare bill?!

The following is too complicated to explain in less than 1000 characters, so if you care to read about how I think Obama and company will stoop to backstabbing their own party just to say they passed a health care bill, read on!

Basically, Obama plans on convincing House Dems to vote for the ObamaCare version currently on the table with the "promise" that he, Pelosi and Reid will make the necessary changes that some Dems want, BUT then BYPASS the whole reconciliation thing, by signing the same version of the Senate bill that ALREADY passed--and not making any changes! Nice, huh?!

I guess he really doesn't care that he and Pelosi are going to be the only Dems on The Hill come November if that happens! Trusting that Obama and Pelosi will honor their promises--now THAT'S funny!

  • So then WHY would ANYONE support his endeavors?!

They're not. This isn't really his bill. This is Pelosi and Reid's bill. He'd being a good boy and doing his job campaigning for it, but support for this bill isn't support for him, it's support for the party machine. Think about it - it makes no sense for him to support this bill. It's the party that needs it, not Barack Obama. Barack Obama is already in up to his eyeballs because of the stimulus and no trillion dollar healthcare reform is going to save him from that. No matter what he does to polish his legacy, he is going down in history for 2 things and 2 things only - 1st black president and largest deficit in the history of the nation.

  • I'm so impatient with this whole thing right now that I'm tempted to say - "who cares?"

  • Obama's party has already backstabbed him on multiple occasions. They want him to be a figurehead and let them make all the decisions. That's why they backed him instead of Clinton. If he backstabs his party, he's merely returning the favor.

  • Yep. If the Democrats actually supported this bill, Obama wouldn't have to wheel and deal, con and bribe.

  • I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that's exactly the way this plays out in the end. The House Dems are cannon fodder, every last one of them, since they are all up for re-election this year anyway. Obama knows that if he doesn't convince them that he will "make it right" for their constituents on the back end, they won't vote for it. But he knows full well that if they vote for it, their constituents will vote them out, so he won't have to keep any deal he makes with them (not that he would anyway -- doesn't anyone remember the fox from The Gingerbread Man?). These House Dems are in catch-22, and I almost feel sorry for them. Almost.

  • If bribes, arm-twisting, or threats don't work, then YES, he will backstab them! I hope that IF this is what he intends, the House dims don't fall for it, if they are concerned at ALL about getting reelected, they will vote NO. But I think that he doesn't care what happens to any of them, as long as his pet project passes.

  • Obama is a man who would backstab his wife and kids if that is what would get his name printed a couple more times in the press and history books!
