Uses for old apples???

I have some apples that are kind of old - no one wants to eat them. However, I didnt know if there was anyway I could use them still? like in a recipe or something maybe? I just would rather use them then throw them out.

  • Make homemade apple sauce, if you have a juicer you could juice them, if you have a blender throw the apples in there with some other stuff and make a smoothie...other than that i can't think of anything..hope this helps!

  • Make applesauce and add sugar and cinnamon and make it apple butter. Apples have natural pectin in them, but if you want your apple butter real thick, you might add a half a package to it. (Half of the recommended amount in the instructions.)

  • Our favorite way to use up old apples is to chop them up and throw them in pancake batter with cinnamon, or in oatmeal. Yum yum!

  • Slice them up and give them to the squirrels. I had a "pet" squirrel once. WE would open the door and he would hop right into the house onto our counter and we would give it apple slices.
