  • because they are lazy.
    it's easier to watch TV or play on the computer than get out of the house.
    Kids would rather just play video games than real games.
    Americans are busy, so we are eating more convenience foods, whether it's frozen or fast food, it's just not as healthy.

  • High Fructose Corn Syrup.
    HFCS in EVERYTHING.
    Large portion sizes.
    Sedentary lifestyles.
    Lack of nutrition/health education.

  • Fast food restaurants on a regular basis, High fructose corn syrup, and sitting in front of a tv all day and night.

  • No education on how to eat. People know that junk food is bad for them and they still eat it. Fast food with in 2 miles of your home.
    The FDA puts things in our food that we are unaware of.
    Portion size, calories, now days more people drink coke, pepsi etc.. instead of juice or water, milk.
    Lazy no working out AMERICANS are lazy in General.

  • large sizes and junk food is cheaper than health food. which seems so wrong it should be the other way around.

  • I believe it is because there is so much emotional lack in our society. Children are growing up feeling more and more insecure, and food becomes their security and their way of feeding their emotional needs. We have become a highly impersonal society and very individualistic in our thinking. People need relationships and close ones at that. They need to feel loved and accepted and important and special. When they don't have what they really need, they find a substitute and I think the substitute has become food.
