Can you report verbal abuse to the authorities?

Since we are talking about Domestic Violence...would you comment on husbands abusing verbally to wives.

Nowadays it is normal for couples to have disagreements and to talk back one another. But what crosses the line when it comes to the use of derogatory names?

  • no, i really dont think the police would or could do anything about someone verbally abusing you...however, if the verbal abuse were to include threats that is different.

  • I don't think so, but recently my mom was verbally abused by a neighbor and the police did come, she lives in elderly housing. It would be hard to prove in a marriage and people could easily lie to get back at the other.

  • No, but if someone is being verbally abused and isn't thinking of whether or not to call the cops they need help Even if they can't get anything done that way they can get out of the relationship. And should.
