athletic moms and non athletic moms

ok so i'm doing a survey to see if athletic moms had shorter labor than non athletic moms...moms who worked out and stayed in shape during their pregnancy versus moms who either weren't in shape or let themselves go...just tell me if you were athletic or not and how long your labor being's just a survey

  • I am neither. I did not let myself go nor did I work out.

First baby 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Second baby 2 hours and 45 minutes
Third baby was 4 hours and 10 minutes..

Yes this was from the start of contractions til birth..

  • Well my story is kind of interesting....
First off I did not work out through out my pregnancy....however I did conciously take stairs instead of the elevator more...walk more at work...little things like that. And I didn't gian excess weight just enough to have a healthy baby.
From the first contraction till her birth was around 11 hours (didn't even know what I was feeling were contractions till much later in the day)... However I was only at the hospital for 3 hours and 50 minutes...and they weren't even sure if I was in labor or just braxton hicks contractions untill I was ready to have her... I went from 2-3 cm. to 9-10 in 10 about a screaming nurse lol!

  • With my first I was fairly athletic - labor was 12 1/2 hours, less athletic with my 2nd (less conciously atheletic, more running around after my 1st) - labor was 8 hours, even less conciously atheletic with my 3rd but running around after 2 other little ones - labor was 5 hours.
With each subsequent pregnancy I had less time to work out but with little ones already I couldn't stop and take a rest when I felt like I needed/wanted to - maybe I built up endurance?
