Anybody been through pregnancy & birth by themselves?

And how did they feel?
I had an abusive father and unloving husband; however I am a busy career
woman and chose donor sperm for my child. I am very happy.
When hearing about this, my family disowned me because of ther beliefs. That upset me a little.
I am curious if anybody else had been through this.

  • I personally haven't but I would recommend visiting some mom groups or going to a pregnancy exercise class at your local gym. Maybe you'll meet some other pregnant women you can connect with.

AND HIRE A DOULA!! She will be an AMAZING help to you during the birth.

Also maybe send your family some ultra sound pics and keep them updated. Maybe they will come around?

  • I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. You need to start building a new family, a network of friends (with or without children) who will be there for both of you.
