does having your heart shocked cause you to talk differently?

My daughter was in the hospital last week, and she had to have a cardioversion done (they shocked her heart) and ever since she has talked like she has lost her voice, real raspy and like a harsh wisper. Do you know anyone who had to have this done (similar to the shock you see on TV when they have to use the paddles as in a heart attack) Did they talk funny afterwards? I am hping she gets her normal voice back soon :( But I wasn't sure if it was relater or something different happening with her.

  • Was she intubated? That can affect the voice. But normal shocking? Not likely.

  • Like the PP said unless she was intubated, it's not likely.
