Outside toys?

My son is 14 months old and I was wondering what are some good outside toys for him when it finally gets warm enough to go outside and play? The only thing we have right now is a tyke slide and then he has his 4 wheeler he can ride outside.

  • We have a sand box, and a water table. It only holds a bout 2 inches of water, but it is fun for the little ones. Also those really big balls you can get at like WalMart are always a hit around here. Sidewalk chalk is fun too. Try to think ahead, some really good sales happen at the begenning of the summer for toys liek that trying to get rid of old stock from the previous year, try to think of what he will grow into by the time summer is over too.

  • My 2 yo also has one of those bubble blowers, it's whinnie the pooh sitting with a honey pot in ront of hima nd he dipps the wand and blows them himself. Kids love bubbles!

  • I would recomend sidewalk chalk also. the big tonka trucks are great too. You can sometimes pick up things at a yard sale. Any ball he can kick around is good. Sometimes just playing catch is the greatest (as long as you keep missing him) and it won't cost anything.

  • Sounds like you have lots of good answers here. Bubble fun is always great for little tots. they can chase bubbles you blow. The sand box, swing from an airplane in a tree branch, scooting toys without pedals, tiny pools with a couple inches of water, large balls, and so many more to mention!

  • Anything he can push, pull or ride on. You could even try a tricycle, but no guarantees he will ride it!

  • sand box (make sure it has a cover so it doesn't become a litter box lmao) and balls.... can't go wrong with those!

  • the water table and pool are my sons favorite. He also can kick a big ball around for HOURS. Sometimes, it is best to just sit in the dirt and draw with sticks. :)
We usually make sure that our sons easter basket is stocked full of the smaller toys like sidewalk chalk, a bug kit, sunscreen, shovel/pail, water toys, etc. We figure we have to buy them anyway, why not turn them into a gift? Plus, it gives us something to look forward to in the spring! :)
