  • Of course. My daughter donated her hair to LOCKS OF LOVE. they make wigs or have them made. As you are going through you Cancer treatments they will be giving you all sorts of refrences for wigs/ special care and benifits there are many agencyies that donate this stuff for free. Please that is one less thing for you too worry about! If you want one I am sure you will be able to get a human hair wig.

  • Chances are there is a salon in your area that will cut and style your wig for you and may be able to special order one that is custom fitted.

My friend in Atlanta does "hair emergency kits" for women who need to be able to pull their hair out of a box sometimes and just go. She started it when she had a reaction to an asthma drug that suddenly caused all of her hair to fall out! And she is a salon owner!

There are salons all over the country that will fit a wig to your head and teach you about wearing it comfortably, especially if you no longer have your own hair under it, which can make extended wear very uncomfortable. They have special wig tools and teach classes on styling. Call around.

  • If there is an Orthodox community near you, that would be a good place to find a wigmaker.
