Four year old has fever and left side pain....

Any thoughts. He has complained twice with the left side pain in the last 24 hours. His fever has been 102. He does have snotty nose and cough.

  • your pediatrician would know. i'd give them a call. my first thoughts were apendicitis, but i wouldn't know. take your baby in. poor thing is in pain... =( i hope he feels better. but really, your doctor should be on call on the weekends to answer your questions anyway. good luck momma, hope your little one feels better soon.

  • appendicitis is on the right side... call your dr... or if you have to go to the ER...
    When in doubt .... get it checked out...

  • It's not the appendix if the pain is on the left side as the appendix is located in the lower RIGHT side (quadrant) of the abdomen.


    It could be any number of things from cramping due to dehydration (since he's feverish), low potassium levels (causes cramping), to an intestinal obstruction.


    Take a  look at the following chart and see if any of the signsand symptoms fit your child, then call your doctor.
