Are Autistic Children diagnosed with this condition @ few hours of being born?

  • Some kids can be diagnosed at 18 months, and they are developing scans and research that may allow diagnoses at 12 months, but definately not at birth. Maybe you are getting autism and downs syndrome confused

  • No, it is a developmental issue for the most part. A DS baby can show signs soon after birth tho.

  • no---autism is noticed during developmental stages in early childhood-there is no way to diagnose it until a child misses some milestones

  • never heard of that. Its nothing thats noticable right away. An autistic child acts and appears normal at this point.WHy don't you read your facts....

  • FYI it might be possible in the coming years for some types of autism to be suspected at birth with brain scans. they are finding some forms have certain earmarks early on in childs life
