is it safe to take antibiotics if you think you have an infection....i don't have insurance right now, it's pending, and can't go to the doctor cause i just can't afford to. i have some leftover antibiotics from a kidney infection i had in december. is it safe to take them?Answer Question

You should never have left over antibiotics - this will cause drug resistance the next time you take the same antibiotic and it may not be affective.
Different antibiotics work for different types of infections. Not a good idea to take left over antibiotics especially when you don't know wht type of infection you have. Antibiotics treat bacterial infections but will do nothing if it's a viral infection.
