First day of period. TMI probably.

Do you count the first day of your period as the first day even if it was either a) a very small amount or b) late at night like 10 or so.

Or would it be the next day - if it has the normal flow.

I am just trying to do the whole ovulation calculating and am kind of tripped up on the first step lol. And I never thought I'd get this confused about my period lol.

  • Spotting is considered the first day, and anything before midnight is still THAT day, not the day after.

You might try to get your hands on Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It describes these details pretty well, and it's really well written. Check it out, your local library should have it.

  • Excellent! Thank you so much for your help. Especially the clarifcation on the spotting because that is really what is confusing me. So that was a big help.
