scared of characters

My 3 1/2 year old is terrified of any kind of characters. Whether it be Mickey Mouse, Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny. She loves Winnie the Pooh and when we went to Disneyland this past week she freaked out. The only one she would go to was Cinderella and she has no idea who she is. Is this normal for a 3 1/2 year old or should she have outgrown this?

  • its normal. Look at it from your kids eyes. These characters are small on the screen then you come in contact with them in person and they tower over most men. Buzz Lightyear in Disney must be about 7-8 feet tall. When your 3 feet thats a huge difference.

  • excellent point Paggirl. Not to mention if your a child looking at mommy and daddy and regular people then seeing these weird, colorful, friendly creature would be scary. It may or may not pass. Stick with whatever she likes.
Is she interested in life like animals like a stuffed dog or baby lamb?
