new technique if time out dont work?

grandson continues to do the same thing he got time out for over and over, what is next step?

  • Put him in time out and make him stay there and I f he does it again and again then keep him in time out longer then what you normally do. He will catch on sooner or later.

  • using time out is something you have to be consistant with .it might not work right away. but you have to stick with it

  • It depends on how the time out is given maybe. DH has them stand in the corner, but then they just lean against the wall. I make them stand in the middle of the room, it starts out as one minute per year old, they're 4 and 5. If they want to jump around, yell and/or argue, then they end up being there as long as it takes to stand still and be quiet. The older one can barely go 15 seconds without yelling that he IS being quiet. Somedays it's almost hard not to laugh at the evil looks he gives me.
