My two year old has a bad runny nose and has had one. There is no cough, fever, teething or anything else. I think it is just allergies kicking in and have been giving her meds for it but it doesn't help. She goes to see her doctor on friday but am wondering if anyone has ideas in the mean time. Thanks

  • Different meds. My son started out on Claritin but it does nothing. The doc prescribed other medicine that works so much better, but it's not OTC.

  • Try the childrens Claritin...see if it works for her. BTW get the store brand, not the name brand..same thing BIG BIG difference in price. Good luck.

  • how long has the nose been runny? a cold can last for weeks. if you have been giving medication to relieve a runny nose, then the body may still need to get rid of dead cellsand sick cells. this can be done through the runny nose. the meds could just be delaying the body's way of getting healthy.
if it is allergies, you may want to get testing done before medicating for that.
good luck! hopefully her nose is not sore from all the blowing!
