hot dogs or pizzas for party?

I want to be cheap because we dont have a lot of extra ca$h right now, and my daughter is having a birthday soon (mostly cousins and family, but I need to feed everyone).

  • Hot dogs are cheaper, also you may want to consider a home made sub platter. My Aunt does it for all her parties, you just buy the cheese, turkey, ham, and some Italian bread. Make the sandwiches, cut them into 1-2 inch slices and stick a toothpick in each one. Have mayo and mustard on the side. They are much cheaper then the sub platters from the store but taste just as great. All together it is just as cheap as hot dogs..

  • I was thinking make your own little pizzas (make the dough or use english muffins, add your own sauce, pepperonie, olives for the eyes, cheese, and so on.

  • Make pizza. Or you can make a taco bar with lentil tacos (dried lentils are super cheap)

  • How many kids are you feeding? It would probably be cheaper to hamburgers/hotdogs than pizza either way, though. You could spend $20 on hotdogs, buns, and toppings, and feed a LOT more people than $20 in pizza would feed.

  • I'd not be doing the call dominos route whereas we'd be spending $50. I was talking making our dough and having the kids do their own little pizzas. But these comments are helpful, thanks.
