What do you call your husbands Grandma? Grandma or Grandma in law?

Grandma in law sounds funny when I say it. Or do you say "my husbands Grandma"? Wondering...

  • While I was married...

    If talking about her to someone else.... "my husbands Grandma"

    If talking directly to her.... "Granny". But I asked her what she would prefer me to call her.

  • I call her Harriette, or sometimes Grandma Harriette. I see what you are saying. If I am talking about her I say my husband's Grandma.

  • :( I never met her. She died many years before we met. My husband doesn't know his dad's parents.

  • I just called her Grandma, and his grandpa, well, Grandpa. I loved them both very much. They died on Dec. 21, 2008 and Dec. 21, 2009. My own grandparents have been dead forever, so it hasn't been an issue.
