Besides water, what other healthy drinks do you serve your kids?

My kids like water but sometimes want a little flavor. Any suggestions. Besides flavor water, we get that.

  • I have 4 drink options in my house , water, milk, OJ & cranberry juice. She can only have one glass of cranberry & OJ though a day. She can have as much water as she wants & because she is vegetarian she is allowed to have up to 3 glasses of milk a day.

  • 100% juice (one serving per day, they can choose if they want the whole 4-6oz straight up and just have one glass, or have it mixed half & half with water - which means 2 glasses) or milk (1-2 glasses a day, depending if they had school & how much other dairy they got/are getting that day). These are the only drinks they get besides water at home. My neice wouldn't drink water, so my SIL would put an ounce or less of juice in her sippy and fill it the rest of the way with water - neice didn't know and since she tasted juice she thought she was getting straight juice all day long. She also only used 100% juice, but neice still got, at the most, 6oz of juice per day. I've done it with my kids too during the summer when they wanted something besides water but had their juice already (yes, it meant getting a bit more juice - no biggie).

  • My kids drink water, fat free milk, oj, or 100% juice (in moderation)....I also just started getting them those Fruitables juice boxes that have a serving of fruits and veggies in each box, they really like those.

  • We dont do anything with sugar (as in bagged or otherwise put in drinks). Drinks we use here are water with ice and a slice of lemon, or slice or orange. Orange juice (100& natural), tea without sugar, and if we really want to party we give them rootbeer. Of course also milk is a good choice.

  • 2% organic milk (or at least milk with no hormones or antibiotics), 100% fruit juice, and this summer we will be making homemade lemonade and limeade (I know, it has added sugar but still much much better than the lemonades you can buy in the store and it gives them something different).

  • My kids drink water and milk (hormone and anti biotic free). That's it. There is no need for anything else. As a special treat they might have a sugar and caffeine free tea.
