What do you do when your neighbor keeps calling the cops on you when you aren't doing anything?

First off, I hate wasting the cops time when they could be doing something more important. THis lady screams at kids in the street to shut up. She complains about how people's flowers don't match their house. And if they are outside in the afternoon she complains everyone is too loud,How people who live here aren't on the lease. Her neighbors moved in and she put up a wire fence so close to their back door they couldn't use their back door. She called the cops on our neighbors twice, one time they were asleep. She called on us for having a fire in a charcoal grill and sitting around it, and she just called and said we are abusing our dogs(which no we aren't) You can get kicked out if the cops get called on you too much. This needs to stop. We really aren't doing anything wrong. Isn't this harrasment?

  • Yes, and if she calls the police on you again, tell the responding officers that you would like to press harrassment charges on your neighbor. I bet they are so sick of coming out on her bullsh*t calls that they will be happy to assist you.

  • Yep gather up the neighbors and take a trip over to the magistrates office, and have every date, time and anything you can with you where she harassed the kids, you or anyone else. If she yells at the kids say its verbal threats, if she yells at any neighbors or you its verbal threats and harassment. Tell the magistrate what shes like and he can look up for himself how many times she called the police and with the people she called present he can possibly issue not only warrants for harassment, but also filing a false report. If that fails I would get together with neighbors and see about getting a lawyer.

  • yes it is harassment. if the cops keep coming and you are obviously not doing anything she can get into trouble. you might have to step up and do it though, like riotgrrl suggested.

  • PS. Keep a diary starting now of everything she does so you can show the cops and/or magistrate every time you need to,.
