What age is the earliest a baby can move into a toddler bed??

  • When they are ready. When they are walking, and can get into and out of a bed without struggle. You can keep the child in a crib until they are trying to climb out. My son is 2 and has never tried to climb out of his crib.

  • Well I'm asking because my husband is about to be deployed so were moving back in with my mom were leaving everything here in Colorado while my daughter and I go to Georgia. She will be 16 months when we go back.

  • when they can walk well. ds was 16 months, dd is just now walking and started walking well a few days ago so we switched her over about 4 days ago, she's 19 months. if she was walking sooner she'da been in it a while ago.

  • She will probably be fine. Kids adjust very well. Just keep an eye on her, and maybe purchase a toddler guard rail for the bed.

  • DD moved into a twin sized bed between 16-18 mos, with a rail on the side.
