  • Private elementary through high school where I live runs from about $500 to about $1,000 per month. I'm in a mid-sized city with at least 3 or 4 private schools. Most articles I have read quoted rates much higher than this, but I am assuming they are looking at really ritzy or urban schools.

If you are talking about private college, that can range from just over what a state funded school costs to a whole lot more. My husband attended a private college in the same town where I attended a state funded college, and his tuition was about 3 times more than mine.

  • depends on the kind of school and where you live. my kids go to a Christian school - anyone in good standing in a local church can sent their kids so i don't consider it totally private...but for 2 kids this year we're paying around $5,500. Once we have 3 or more, tuition tops out at (currently, it'll go up a bit every couple of years) $8,800 - no matter how many kids we have (we have 4). I have no idea what high school Christian school tuition is though, since we're not there yet! our Christian school is no different than the public schools save the Bible class and everything taught from a Christian perspective.
