Toddler hitting themselfs when frustrate

My 21 month old daughter has been hitting herself in the head or finding the closest object to her and hittig her head on it when she gets frustrated or mad. I have heard its normal tantrum behavior, but was curious if anyone else has had this problem.

  • my 3 year old will bite himself.....it has to be ignored...the more attention you pay to it, the more they'll do it.

  • My 2.5 year old smacks himself on the top of the head, too. It isn't hard, but I guess that is just how he shows his frustration.
