Why does the Easter bunny carry eggs? Rabbits don't lay eggs.

  • Because they can get them to our house a lot quicker than a chicken..because chickens dont like to cross the road.

  • I heard some where that they symbolize new birth, which ties them in with the resurection somehow.

  • On a serious note, because rabbits and eggs were regarded as fertility symbols, and during the Spring time of the year (around the Vernal Equinox) was a time when people celebrated the return of fertility to the land.
