  • there really isnt much you can do to prevent miscarriages. I mean, by all means, you must be healthy. No smoking, don't be around anyone smoking, rest as much as possible, eat well, stay hydrated with lots of water, lay off caffeine, and NO STRESS!! I know the last one sounds impossible, but the more you stress the higher the chance of losing the babe. good luck!

  • My advice...just take care of yourself and do everything you can do to have a healthy pregnancy. You need to just trust that God is going to take care of you and the baby you are carrying.
You cannot prevent miscarriage. It just happens. Im currently pregnant with what started out as a twim pregnancy. I lost one of the babies 3 weeks ago. While Im grieving the loss of my baby I have turned to God to take care of the one Im still carrying. That is all you can do. Chin up! Have faith everything will be ok. Worry is unproductive...especially over things that are out of your control. God bless!

  • too much stress causes problems, if you make it through the 1st trimester and are healthy then chances are you made it through the danger zone and should be fine-
you should gain between 2 and 4 lbs durring 1st trimester (3 months) and for your first baby this can be higher cause you are worried you arent eating enough.
relax - read "what to expect when you are expecting"
    and you will be fine

  • Congrats!!! The best advice i can give ya to relax and enjoy every minute of the pregnancy..even the morning sickness and back aches. It will be wonderful memories for the rest of your life. Try to enjoy it and not worry. Most miscarriages are NOT caused by anything that the mother did. enjoy this time!

  • Just make sure that you eat good and take care of yourself. Don't overdo anything and rest as much as you can. Don't do anything that could be bad for the baby, i.e drinking alcohol and smoking. Take a prenatal vitamin everyday and make sure you don't miss any appointments with your doctor.

  • Try not to stress yourself. Most of the time, there is nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage. Don't bungy jump or ride a bull, but other than that just try and enjoy the experience.

  • Take care of yourself... follow your doctor's instructions... and join an informational website like to get updates on your body changes and baby's development.
