back pain makes driving unbearable

i'm 5 months pregnant. i have pretty bad back pain but when i drive it's just unbearable which sucks because i usually have to drive a few hours a day. is there something i could buy (relatively inexpensive) that i could put on my drivers seat to make driving more bearable.....(pillow doesn't work)

  • I agree with the chiropractor and massage for long term, but short term I have to ice my back all the time it works really well and feels great.

  • I say go see a chriopractor like doula said... I did when I was prego, and I used to get a massage once a month or so (more frequent the closer I got to my due date) and talk to your OB about tylenol...

  • unfortunately i'm 5'2" so i'm very short, but i have very long legs so i need the seat pushed all the way back for my legs and then raised so i can see...if i move the seat i won't be able to drive :(

  • Have you tried putting your seat in different positions? I find that if I'm a little more reclined it helps.

  • no its just really bad soreness throughout my back, mostly on the side of my back...not insurance is still pending, once everything is processed i'm going to do acupuncture but until then i'm on my own haha

  • Is it sciatic nerve pain? (Pinch down the butt-leg)
    Going to the chiropractor really helped me a LOT!
