Blinds look good inside the house but not on the outside.....

We just went & bought new Wooden blinds for our house. We matched them to the wood / casings inside our home which are wood & have a light brown color. They look really good on the inside but awful on the outside. They look orange & it is all you see when you ride by our house. They are custom so we can't return them. We spent $900.00, What can we do to fix this?

  • Well, I suppose you could paint the backs of the slats, but to be honest, I don't see why it is really all that important. We keep our blinds down, but open, during the day. We still get light into the house, but you can't really see into the house from the outside unless you're standing right outside the window. The only time we would close the blinds during the day is if the sun is too bright while we are sitting at the table for meals or too much light is getting to the fish tank (causes algae overgrowth). At night is the only time we typically close the blinds (for privacy from the street) and then nobody can see the backs of them anyway because it's dark.
