Are there any precautions you should take when you have pink eye and strep throat?

Other than washing your hands, duhhh.

My husband has strep and possibly pink eye. We're trying to be as careful as possible, but we're scared that he'll give it to our toddler. We're scared he's going to have to go stay somewhere else or something, lol.

  • wash your hands ALOT. Also disinfect ALL surfaces from counter tops to door knobs and light switches. Just as long as he doesn't sneeze. and cough on the baby the baby should not get it. Also he need to keep his hands out of his eyes, nose and mouth and wash immediatly after touching any said body parts or fluids from those areas...Also wash all sheets and pillow cases that he has laid on.

  • besides washing hands , anything he sleeps on like his pillows dont touch, wash everything. Pink eye is one of those things that can spread like wild fire. i clean door knobs all bedding toys anything and everything the person with pink eye has i sanitize it. My daughter was a toddler when she had it and I ended up with it even though i had cleaned and cleaned like a mad woman, but she was a toddler and i was in constant contact with her so i was doomed from the start.

One of my sons had it but it was very easy to contain since he was older and i gave him a chair to stay in i put a sheet over it and he had his blanket and pillow and no one was allowed near that chair we also gave him a cup with a straw to use and he didnt touch the cup only the straw. It seemed to help quite a bit keeping him settled in one place and keeping everyone else away from that area, no one else got it that time.
