An article in this week's People features an interview with Brittainy and Sam Labberton, who will appear in court for the first time in April, fighting accusations that they starved their young children and laced their 4-month-old baby's bottle with laxatives.
The whole shebang went down just over a year ago, when a doctor noticed that their daughter Ainsley was failing to put on weight. At two months, she weighed just 6 lbs 11 oz, barely a pound more than her birth weight, so he alerted social services, and they transferred Ainsley to foster care. In two months, she nearly doubled her weight.
"Oh my God, she's fat," Brittainy cried, when she learned that her child weighed a whopping 13 lbs. "I have a fat baby."
One month later, authorities discovered that Ainsley's bottle had been laced with laxatives.

"[The mother] Brittainy, at 5' 5" and 90 pounds, says, "I've been made fun of my whole life for being too skinny. I don't have eating disorders - I have a very fast metabolism." Her husband, who has struggled with obesity his entire life, supports his wife's perspective.
So these boneheads have seen both ends of the spectrum, and STILL chose to do this to their infant child?! I seem to remember reading that Anna Nicole Smith did the same to her infant child too---I guess that says it all!!!

I hope they never see their baby again. They could have killed her. Yes, there are times like this when I think forced sterilization is a good idea.
