I still want the needed amount of calories I'm just looking for way healthier foods. I'm already cutting out all soda, and lowering my intake of processed foods.

any other suggestions you have for me?

  • Its been ten years since I've breast fed, but I do remember my doctor recommended lots of protien. Tuna and couscous for some reason comes to mind. I also remember reading that garlic encourages babys to nurse longer. Other than that I'm guessing a normal healthy diet would be the best thing. Hope this helps. Hopefully some other breast feeding mothers can add to this.

  • Replace simple/white grains with whole grains - 5-6 servings a day.
Cut way back on, or eliminate meat and dairy.
Eat at least two servings of legumes a day.
Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
