Amount to be pay on Child suport for two kids?

My SO pays $1300.00 per month on CS for his two kids? Is that a resonable amount?

  • Yes! It all depends on how much he is making and what percent goes to CS. Here in NY it is 25% of the person who is paying income.

  • You should be lucky enough to get that. I get $200 a month for 2 kids. My boyfriend doesn't work(we aren't living together) but it's getting paid out of his inheritance(he set it up with his uncle who has control of his trust).

  • google child support calculator for your state. That should give you at least a rough guideline, although a Judge can change that amount based on any number of factors.

  • There are a lot of factors involved in determining child support amounts. One of them is the non-custodial parent's income. The custodial parent's income is also a factor. As is the responsibility for providing for other children from other relationships for both parties.

    Obviously, if a man only makes $2,000 a month he cannot reasonably pay $1,300 a month child support.
